I work from home and since my hubby is now retired we pretty much do things in our leisure time. That includes cooking but it doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy easy to fix meals every now and then. We usually like quick meals for our dinner. We always stack up TV dinners in our refrigerator and canned goods in our pantry, not to mention Sloppy Joe sauces.
The first time I tried Sloppy Joe was when we had dinner at my sister- in-law’s place. That was a long time ago, it was in the summer of 2006 if my memory serves me right. I am originally from the Philippines and we don’t normally eat this kind of food. Our primary food on the table is rice with a little bit of meat and veggies on the side. When I got introduced to Sloppy Joe, I fell inlove with it right away. I can’t remember the brand that my sister in-law used.
When I asked my hubby if he wanted to try Manwich Original, Bold, and Thick & Chunky Sloppy Joe sauces, I got a “sure” answer. As soon as I received the samples, he tried the Original flavor right away. He used ground pork instead of the lean ground beef or turkey as they suggested on the can because ground pork is about half the price of beef now. We also like to serve our Sloppy Joe on hotdog buns because it is easier to keep in the bun than hamburger buns. I will be eating most of the Manwich Sloppy Joe that my hubby cooked. I like it very much but my hubby can’t eat a lot of it because salt causes him pain. If Manwich can make no-salt added Sloppy Joe sauce, that would be great for people who enjoy Sloppy Joe but have problems with sodium like my hubby does.
