Got kids at home who are bored with their schoolwork or not so keen on doing chores? Don’t worry. You’re not alone. The good news is that you can make schoolwork and chores fun for kids so they will be motivated to do it.
Making Schoolwork Fun
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic affected the entire world, forcing people to work from home and kids to study via online school, a lot of parents were already struggling with how they can motivate their kids to do schoolwork at home. Assignments can be so boring and it’s quite hard to let the kids work on these, despite telling them the importance of doing their homework.
But a lot of parents have also learned that rewarding kids for doing an excellent job in school actually works! Also, there are lots of ways they can make schoolwork fun even when the kids are at home.
One good way of keeping the kids happy is to make their study area as fun-filled as possible, without tempting them with gadgets, of course. Why not add some dinosaur svg to the walls of the study room or create colorful stencils on their study table?
Kids love to do stuff on their own if they are motivated; so, you can even let the kids pick the designs they like. Girls and boys alike love dinosaurs! Even adults enjoy getting dinosaur stuff, too.
Aside from creating a lively space for your kids to study in, you can help make their schoolwork much easier by researching tips online. You’d be surprised at the many tricks and study tools that you can find on the web to make things easier for your little ones.
Making Chores Fun for Kids
Chores are boring, many kids would definitely say. But kids can have fun with chores and help you get things done around the house in no time.
Make sure to assign the kids with chores they can handle at their age. You can’t expect a toddler to wash the dishes or clothes but a child that age can already learn to clean up their play area by keeping the toys.
Decorate the playroom with football svg or other printables that would make the place a great place for the kids to play. Don’t forget to also keep colorful printed tokens or other forms of rewards that the kids can get for keeping their toys in order. You can even hide rewards or treats they can find if they clean up.
Let the kids incorporate play with the chores. Yes, it might take the kids a much longer time to wash the dishes because they play with the soap suds or use the dining utensils as make-believe toys, but that’s alright. The more fun they think a chore is, the more they are likely to volunteer to work on it.
It would also be a nice idea to make a schedule for the kids’ chores – and give out corresponding rewards for each task completed, of course.
