Before we left home for our four month long vacation in the Philippines, our phone system was already acting up. Sure enough, when we got home, we did not have a reliable working phone. First of all, our provider did not activate our connection as instructed until we called them. Thanks to my sister in-law for lending us one of her cellphones. We did not get our phone connection back until two days after we got back from our vacation. When we finally got our connection back, for some reason, the telephone in our home office wouldn’t ring anymore. We could not tell if there were incoming calls unless we left the door open so we could hear the phone ringing in the kitchen. My hubby switched the phones but again the problem still existed. We figured out that it must had something to do with the wiring in our office.
We now have a different phone system and new provider. We also have a new answering machine with wireless caller ID. Now we have more than enough phones now than we need. My sister in-law gave us their spare phone system so instead of buying new phones, we are using the system that she gave us. That saved us a lot of money.
