Normally, I try to practice a laid back lifestyle but during summer, things get a little crazy. I get busy fishing, gardening and hunting the woods for delicacies like blueberries and wild mushrooms. We also prefer to travel in the summer because the weather is more predictable. When my hubby and I travel, we usually take our own food along with us. That way, we minimize our stops and restaurant costs. We usually only need to stop for gas and potty breaks.
Nutritional snacks like Balance bars are a great choice when taking long road trips. They are not messy and fit easily into a cooler with your favorite drinks. It is a complete snack packed with protein and an excellent source of fiber. Each bar has only 190 calories or less. Each bar contains 5-7 grams of protein and 5-6 grams of fiber.
When my hubby and I go fishing, I take some Balance bars for our snacks. I like the Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat while my hubby likes the Chocolate Peppermint Patty. In one sitting, I can eat 2-3 Balance bars and then wash them all down with either cold juice, smoothie or water and I am good for the whole day.
Chocolates are my guilty pleasure. Both my hubby and I eat a lot of chocolates. I don’t deprive myself of this decadent treat because chocolate is said to be very nutritious. I eat chocolates when I crave them but always in moderation. After working out, I snack on a Balance bar.
