I normally don’t have serious problems with acne and when I do get it, it goes away quickly by itself. I usually only get it when I am about to start my menstruation period. I only get a little on my face and then it goes away quickly. I consider myself to be lucky when it comes to dealing with acne issues. I don’t have to buy medications to get rid of it. Some people struggle with acne all of the time. One of my younger sisters has that problem. She has been dealing with acne problems for many years and it has gotten worse now that she lives abroad. She can’t figure out what is causing it. She thinks that it might be due to the weather or the food that she eats. She did not have the problem when she was younger. She mentioned to me that she would visit a dermatologist soon if the problem persists.
Here are my tips for preventing acne:
-> I keep my face clean whether or not I have acne. I wash my face daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells and extra oil from the surface of skin. I also scrub my face every other day using a Vitagoods brush. Why did I choose Vitagoods? Because it has a comfortable grip and is perfect for someone like me who has small hands.
I use warm water and regular soap when washing my face. I don’t wash my face more than once a day because my skin tends to get dry if I do and at times that can cause some irritation.
-> I use moisturizing cream right after I thoroughly clean and dry my face. There are moisturizers made for oily, dry or a combination of both so it is very important to choose the one that you think fits your skin best.
-> During my periodic breakout, I avoid wearing make-up or any beauty related products. I learned it from my mother while growing up and I still follow through because the cosmetic chemicals can make it worse.
-> Watch what you put on your hair as it gets on your face. As much as possible, I try to use gentle shampoo and conditioner. I like to use baby shampoo and conditioner because they are mild. If you have oily hair, try to keep it away from your face.
