Sun, Tequila, and a Surprise Santa: My Unforgettable Cancun Vacation đźŚ´đźŤąđźŽ…

From December 14th to 26th, I planned a vacation with family and friends, and let me tell you—it was amazing! We went to Cancun, a tropical paradise where the sun was warm, the beaches were stunning, and the vibes were just perfect. Of course, no trip to Cancun is complete without margaritas, right? We fully embraced the vacation spirit and enjoyed every moment.

Every morning, I was the first one in our group to head to the pool. While everyone else was still sleeping in, I was out there securing my favorite spot. For me, the perfect vacation means sitting by the pool with a good book and watching people go by. I’m not one for big adventures or running around doing activities—I just want to relax and be lazy. Thankfully, my husband feels the same way, so we always enjoy our vacations at the same slow pace.

This time, we decided to try new restaurants, and wow, did we eat well! The seafood restaurants were the best—fresh, delicious, and exactly what we needed after a long day of lounging around. But the real surprise came when my husband pulled a stunt on me that I will never forget.

One morning, he called me over to the pool. I thought he needed something, but no—he wanted me to take a shot of Don Julio tequila for our wedding anniversary! In my 43 years of life, I had never taken a shot that early in the morning. But hey, when in Cancun, right? So, I took it. And let me tell you—it hit me fast! My world started spinning, and before I knew it, I was asleep by the pool. My husband thought it was hilarious because, well, I have zero alcohol tolerance.

To make our trip even more memorable, we celebrated Christmas in Cancun. Now, this part is funny. While playing pickleball, Santa Claus showed up! But here’s the twist: I recognized him. He was wearing the Santa suit, but I had a strong feeling it was Javier, our pool exercise instructor. When I asked him if he was Javier, he just smiled and stayed silent. No denial, no confirmation—just that mysterious Santa look. My friend later confirmed it was him! We had been seeing him almost every day, and it was hilarious to find out he was moonlighting as Santa.

The whole trip was nothing short of amazing—lazy mornings by the pool, incredible food, funny tequila moments, and even Santa playing pickleball with us. Cancun gave us memories we’ll never forget, and I already can’t wait for our next trip!

If you ever go to Cancun, my advice? Take it slow, enjoy the margaritas (maybe skip the 9 AM tequila shot unless you’re braver than me), and keep an eye out for Santa. You never know who he might really be!
